{"id":1607,"date":"2023-09-22T17:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-09-22T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/campingilsergente.it\/our-story\/"},"modified":"2023-11-07T16:19:38","modified_gmt":"2023-11-07T16:19:38","slug":"our-story","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/campingilsergente.it\/en\/our-story\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Story"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>It all began in the <strong>1950s<\/strong> When <strong>Narciso Agostini<\/strong>, the Sergeant, decided to sell his property near the Rosa Valley to buy a building and land in<a href=\"https:\/\/campingilsergente.it\/en\/where-we-are\/\"> <strong><em>Monte di Fo&#8217;<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, to get closer to his mother who was a farmer on the neighboring farm owned by the Panna company.<\/p>\n\n<p>Here he began his restaurant and bar business with one of the first ballroom dancing dances in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mugellotoscana.it\/it\/\">Mugello<\/a> attached. In the following years, Monte di Fo&#8217; became increasingly identified with the figure of Narcissus and especially with his nickname &#8221; <strong>The Sergeant<\/strong>.&#8221; Carried with him from the time of the 1935 African War from which he was discharged with the rank of sergeant.<\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1748\" height=\"983\" src=\"https:\/\/campingilsergente.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Senza-titolo-84-edited.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-871\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/campingilsergente.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Senza-titolo-84-edited.jpg 1748w, https:\/\/campingilsergente.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Senza-titolo-84-edited-1280x720.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/campingilsergente.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Senza-titolo-84-edited-980x551.jpg 980w, https:\/\/campingilsergente.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Senza-titolo-84-edited-480x270.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) and (max-width: 1280px) 1280px, (min-width: 1281px) 1748px, 100vw\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Old Campground Entrance<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>1960s.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>With the help of the 4 children the activities increased, the Restaurant Hotel and Balera was joined by Trucking, Earthmoving, Farm and <strong>Camping<\/strong>. The latter activity remained marginal until the 1980s, years in which it was decided, after Sergeant&#8217;s death in <em>1974<\/em>, to split the various enterprises and run them separately from each other, while still keeping the name in memory of his late father.<\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"873\" src=\"https:\/\/campingilsergente.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Senza-titolo-29-1-1024x711.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-873\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Silvano Farnetani<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"1024\" data-id=\"879\" src=\"https:\/\/campingilsergente.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Senza-titolo-28-696x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-879\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Maddalena Agostini<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>Here the personality of <strong>Silvano Farnetani<\/strong>, a young boy from the Senese area who working nearby often stopped to eat <a href=\"https:\/\/campingilsergente.it\/en\/restaurant\/\">at the restaurant<\/a>, where he met <strong>Maddalena<\/strong>, daughter of Sgt.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Thus began the second generation, where the latter, who had been in charge of the restaurant business, found himself with Silvano setting up and then running the Campground. It is therefore thanks to the boy&#8217;s willpower, stubbornness and perseverance and her shrewd financial management that today&#8217;s &#8220;<em>\n  <strong>Camping the Sergeant<\/strong>\n<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div the bathrooms that saw for lack of economic resources the use of salvaged materials for the wall coverings executed with tiles from sample books given to Silvano by a representative after the fairs, walls later described by a foreign camper as a &#8216;nice artistic touch.&#8217;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>In the 1990s<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n<p>The third generation composed of <strong>Daniele<\/strong>, Silvano and Maddalena&#8217;s son and Maddalena and <strong>Gloria<\/strong>, his wife, begins to peep in.  <\/p>\n\n<p>In this decade and the next, sports facilities will be built: soccer, tennis, and bocce, the entrance with direct access to the state highway will be moved, a swimming pool will be built, new toilets will be installed, and <a href=\"https:\/\/campingilsergente.it\/en\/restaurant\/\">the restaurant<\/a>, bar, pizzeria, and small grocery store will be opened.  <\/p>\n\n<p>All these investments led to ECOLABEL and ISO 14001 environmental certification in 2006.<\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide
